Working visit to Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn

On March 13, Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn held an international scientific and practical conference «Civil procedure: current state, issues and challenges of today».

Representatives from Ural State Law University named after V.F. Yakovlev took part in the conference and made a report. There were Head of the Department of Civil Procedure, doctor of juridical science, professor V.V. Yarkov, doctor of juridical science, professor of the Department of Civil Procedure, D.B. Abushenko, the Head of the Mediation Center, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Civil Procedure, E.A. Solomeina, leading expert of Mediation Center, candidate of juridical science, associate professor of the Department of Civil Procedure G.S. Sheremetova.

Vice Rector for science of KNU professor N.I. Ishekeev and Dean of the Law Faculty of KNU professor K.M. Smanaliev opened the conference. The event brought together prominent lawyers and public figures of Kyrgyzstan and other countries, in particular, the conference was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic A.A. Davletov, the Head of the National Institute for Strategic Initiatives under the President of Kyrgyz Republic K.Aziz, ex-Minister of Justice of Kyrgyz Republic L.V. Gutnichenko, representatives of various higher educational institutions of Central Asian countries, the largest law firms in the region and others.

The participants of the conference discussed topical issues in the field of civil litigation, alternative ways of settling disputes and came to the conclusion that many of the problems facing the judicial systems of the post-Soviet countries at the present stage are consonant. Common problems and similar approaches in legal regulation give rise to joint discussion, search for optimal solutions and cooperation, the hope for the continuation of which was expressed by the organizers and other participants of the event when summing up.

The next day, on March 14, the representatives of the USLU named after V.F. Yakovlev read open lectures for students of the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn. Thus, the lecture by the Head of the Department of Civil Procedure V. V. Yarkov was devoted to the issues of digitalization of judicial and other jurisdictional activities. Professor of the Department of Civil Procedure D. B. Abushenko highlighted current trends in the judicial protection of civil rights. A lecture by representatives of the Mediation Center of the USLU E.A. Solomeina and G. S. Sheremetova was devoted to the introduction of mediation and mediation technologies in the activities of jurisdictional bodies. During the lectures, the students were also told in detail about our university and the possibilities of studying there.

Within the working visit of USLU’s representatives to the Kyrgyz National University issues of further cooperation between the two universities were also discussed, in particular, a meeting was held with KNU students wishing to study at USLU on academic exchange programs; possible training options, requirements and necessary documents were discussed. There was also a meeting with colleagues - lecturers of KNU, who were told about the possibilities of postgraduate study and preparation of dissertations at our university.

This working visit of USLU’s representatives to the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn has become another step in achieving goals of creating and enhancing the cooperation of the universities – participants of Consortium «European-Asian Law university», established in Ekaterinburg in June 2022 within the framework of 15th session of Europen-Asian Law Congress.
