Wish you high flights, new undertakings and victories!

Dear students, lecturers and postgraduates of the Ural State Law University named after V.F. Yakovlev! The official calendar of holidays marks January 25 as the Russian Students’ Day. Established in 2005 by the Decree of the Russian President, it revived students’ tradition to congratulate each other. Saint Tatiana was considered to be the patroness of the students back in Imperial Russia. In the 19th century, all students’ celebrations began with an unofficial students’ holiday, and it this event, acquiring traditions and rituals over years, was one, that the students’ community had always celebrated cheerfully and noisily. Nowadays, in Russia, it is impossible to find a student who doesn’t know about the existence of his “professional” holiday and about the defender of those who celebrate it. Despite the fact that the history of this holiday has its roots in the distant past, many traditions have survived to this day. Students still celebrate their holiday on a grand scale. After all, everyone knows that a student will never miss a chance to take a break from studying, only busiest session time distracts him from the endless celebration. Studentship is an incredible time of the brightest events, impressions, and discoveries! On the Russian Students’ Day, I wish all current and former students a bright mind, creative development of versatile talents, fun days of life, great opportunities to achieve goals and make dreams come true. Let the student years be outstanding, good, exciting, and memorable!
