Graduation at the USLU Preparatory Department
This academic year, the Russian as a foreign language program at the Preparatory department included foreign students from Senegal, Equatorial Guinea, and the Republic of Tajikistan.On July 16, the Preparatory department together with the Department of international cooperation presented students with certificates of educational program completion, confirming their level of Russian language proficiency.
Throughout the year, foreign students studied Russian. Starting with the basics, they moved on to more complex topics, and by the end of the year, such constructions as cases, passive voice, which inspire horror at the beginning, became familiar and understandable.
Despite the busy academic schedule (classes were held every day), foreign guests met new people and new culture, actively participated in excursions and extracurricular events of the University (Freshman Day, Student Day, New Year, Shrovetide, etc.). Senegalese students showed excellent training in mini football during the year and successfully played several matches with senior university students, winning prizes.
Intercultural communication was mutual, and the students, in turn, introduced us to the traditions and culture of their native country. In particular, students from Senegal celebrated the national-religious festival of the Great Magal (Grand Magal of Touba). During classes and extracurricular activities, foreign students talked a lot about life in their country, traditions, social pattern and stereotypes.
Congratulations to the students on the successful completion of their education at the Preparatory department of USLU! And we look forward to seeing you in the new year as students of a Russian University!
In total, in the 2019/2020 academic year, 25 foreign citizens studied at the University's Preparatory department. The main result of this large-scale educational project was that the University got the right in the 2020/2021 academic year to teach 25 foreign citizens at the expense of the federal budget within the quota established by the Decree of the Dovernment of the Russian Federation.
