On the Russian Constitution Day, a round table "Constitutional Amendments 2020: Significance, Legislative Changes, First Practice" was held in Ural State Law University

On December 12, the Department of Constitutional Law of Ural State Law University organized a round table "Constitutional Amendments 2020: Significance, Legislative Changes, First Practice". The event was attended by representatives of Ural State Law University, Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, I. Kant Baltic Federal University, Novosibirsk State University, Tyumen State University, Sochi Institute (branch) of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia and other educational institutions. The round table was opened by the Head of the Department of Constitutional Law of USLU, Honored Lawyer of Russia, Doctor of Law, Professor M. S. Salikov. Within the framework of the scientific event, innovations in the procedure for amending the Constitution of the Russian Federation were discussed, the content of the subject of constitutional law was rethought in the light of the constitutional reform of 2020, its impact on the form of government in Russia was assessed, the problems of building a public power system were analyzed taking into account the inclusion of local self-government bodies. In addition, the practice of using blockchain technology during the all-Russian vote was generalized. Particular attention was paid to the status of the judiciary and the problems of constitutional justice, in particular the reform of the Institution of dissenting opinion, as well as the issues of abolishing the constitutional (charter) courts of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation (for example, the Kaliningrad region).
