Legal challenges of digitalization: student science gives a response

On December, 16, the Department of Business Law of USLU named after V.F. Yakovlev jointly with the Department of Civil Law of Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University held a round table «Legal Regulation of digital economy».


A welcoming speech was performed by Vladimir Sergeevich Belykh, Doctor of Juridical Sciences, professor, Head of the Department of Business Law of Ural State Law University named after V.F. Yakovlev, Honoured Worker of Science of the Russian Federation, and Alexey Valerevich Zolotukhin, Doctor of Juridical Sciences, professor, the Dean of the Law Faculty of the Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University. The scientists highlighted the special significance of discussing the issues of digital economy on the different levels, including the framework of student science. It is a growing generation of lawyers who is to be ready for a legally competent response to the challenges which appeared within development of digital economy.


The students of Institute of Law and Business (Anastasia Kravchuk,Vlada Kraft, Varvara Minailova), Institute of Prosecutor’s Office (Darina Abitova, Anastasia Nevolina) and Institute of Justice (Maksim Pisarenko, Konstantin Bulavitsky) took part in the event on behalf of USLU named after V.F. Yakovlev. Some issues were of particular interest. They were connected with legal capacity of the artificial intelligence, its legal status, transformation of doing business, the rights of person in unreal space, legal regulation of virtual fashion-pattern, educational activities, and the scope of government authority under conditions of digitalization. The event took place as a vivid discussion of the presented reports. Special words of gratitude are to the moderators, who organized the performance of the round table – Maria Anatolyevna Bazhina, Candidate of Juridical Sciences, associate professor of the Department of Business Law of USLU named after V.F. Yakovlev, and Mukhammadzhon Askarbergovich Vokhidov, lecturer of Civil Law Department of Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University.


We wish all the participants of the round table further productive scientific developments on the stated topics and we are waiting for emergence of new discussion platforms in the framework of student science on the issues of legal regulation of digital economy.
