How to enroll in the USLU named after V.F. Yakovlev?

7 simple steps for admission to the Ural State Law University named after V.F. Yakovlev:



Step 1. Select the educational program and the level of training (bachelor’s degree, specialty or master’s degree).


Information about educational programs can be found on the website of the USLU named after V.F. Yakovlev at: https://usla.ru/priem/



Step 2. Send to ums@usla.ru a scan of your passport and its translation.



Step 3. Get an official response from the USLU.



Step 4. Wait for an official invitation from the USLU named after V.F. Yakovlev and submit documents to the Russian House/Russian Embassy in your country for a visa.



Step 5. Collect the full package of documents that must be submitted to the university:

  • the original of the document on education, legalized in the prescribed manner + its translation into Russian;

  • the original of the appendix to the document on education, legalized in the prescribed manner + its translation into Russian;

  • original passport + its translation into Russian;

Important! Translations of educational documents into Russian must be certified by a notary or at a Russian foreign institution (embassy, consulate);

  • Photo 6 pcs. (size 3x4).



Step 6. Get a Russian visa and come to Russia no later than 2 months from the date of expiry of the visa.


Upon arrival at the Ural State Law University named after V.F. Yakovlev, immediately or the next day, come to the International Cooperation Department at the address: Komsomolskaya Street 23, office 202 for temporary registration on the territory of Russia.



Step 7. Take the entrance exams:

  • You do not need to take entrance exams to enter the Institute of Pre-University Training for Russian language courses and specialized disciplines;

  • To enroll in bachelor’s degree programs, you must pass exams in social studies, Russian language, as well as in one of three elective subjects (History of Russia, Foreign language, Computer science and Information and communication technologies);

  • For admission to Master’s degree programs:

1. International protection of human rights – it is necessary to pass exams in the disciplines “Theory of State and Law” and “International Law” in the form of computer testing;

2. International economic law and process – it is necessary to pass an interdisciplinary examination in the direction of “Jurisprudence” (Theory of State and Law, Constitutional Law, Civil Law and Criminal Law) in the form of computer testing and pass an oral interview in German;

3. Anti–corruption activities - it is necessary to pass an interdisciplinary examination in public law (Administrative Law, Constitutional Law) in the form of computer testing and pass an interview in public law;

4. Commercial law – it is necessary to pass an oral interview on the discipline “International Private Law”;

5. For applicants to master’s programs of the main competition – it is necessary to pass an interdisciplinary examination in the direction of “Jurisprudence” (Theory of State and Law, Constitutional Law, Civil Law and Criminal Law) in the form of computer testing.

If according to the results of the entrance exam, you have not scored the required minimum number of points, we recommend that you choose another field of study or study at the Institute of Pre-University Training.
