Magnificent victory of the Institute of State and International Law USLU team in the international competition

The USLU team - consisting of first-year master's students of Institute of State and International Law: Olga Guselnikova, Semyon Russkikh, Arina Sukhova and Maxim Shiryaev - successfully performed at the international competition AIFC Moot and IAC Moot Court (Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan) and took the 1st place. In addition to the award for the prize, the USLU team received an invitation to take an internship at the AIFC Court.

Olga Guselnikova, a representative of our University, was also recognized as the best speaker of the competition.

The coach of the team was Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Civil Procedure K. L. Branovitsky - head of the master's program "International Economic Law and Procedure". The mentor and inspirer is V.V. Yarkov, Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of Civil Procedure.

The AIFC Moot and IAC Moot Court competition has been held for the third time. This year teams from leading universities from Kazakhstan, Russia and Azerbaijan took part in it. The plot was devoted to the issues of non-execution of the contract in connection with force majeure and recovery of damages caused by this non-execution under English law.

The oral rounds were held on October 6-7. In the final, the USLU team met with the winner of the previous two years - the team of KIMEP University (Almaty, Kazakhstan).

The judges of the final round were the current judges of the AIFC Court: President of the Court Lord Munce, Sir Jack Beatson, Sir Robin Jacob, Sir Stephen Richards.

The competition is organized by the Court of the «Astana» International financial center. The competition is held in English.
